Canadian

Last week, on Friday at approximately 13h00, Oshean, Rea and I were sworn in as Canadian citizens.
It was a rather moving and sombre ceremony.
The judge, a former immigrant herself, was very warm and welcoming. She put everyone at ease and made it a wonderful occasion.

It reminded me of how large this world of ours is.
How diverse.
How different.
And yet, still, how alike we all are.

71 people from 27 countries were sworn in that afternoon.

That's really something.
